Can our existing roof structure support the weight of Silent Roof Material soundproofing?

The simple answer is yes: Silent Roof Material (SRM) only weighs 800 grams per square meter.
Many modern film locations are retrofitted industrial warehouses with lightweight, corrugated metal roofs. Adding multiple layers of heavy ply, mass-loaded vinyl (MLV), or concrete board to block airborne sound can risk structural failure or require expensive steel reinforcement.
Traditional soundproofing relies heavily on the Mass Law, which states that doubling a barrier’s mass reduces sound by roughly 6 dB. This is where Silent Roof Material (SRM), allows a totally different approach to achieving a similar outcome. Below is a close-up (macro) image of SRM. A full 60m roll of SRM weighs only 48 kg, enough to cover 60 square meters of roof space.Silent Roof Matting Material (SRM) - close up image
