How does Silent Roof actually work?

Silent Roof works by intercepting and scattering falling raindrops BEFORE they hit the metal or hard-surface roof panels

How does the Mechanism Work?

Firstly, by Surface Interception: The system uses a specialised, UV-stabilised black material (Silent Roof Material, or SRM) made from an open, multi-dimensional lattice of bonded polyamide filaments.

What happens next?

When raindrops strike the smooth upper grid structure, the impact energy breaks up and shatters silently rather than hitting a hard sheet-metal drum surface. Water trickles down through the porous 3D matrix inside the matting and drips softly onto the roof surface below without transferring loud percussive noise. As a result, once the water reaches the original roof surface, it flows naturally into the standard building drainage and gutter systems.Image of Silent Roof Material installed on a commercial roof
